To enrich the content of summer care program classes, broaden the international perspectives of rural students, and foster a relaxed and engaging learning environment, Pi Jinyu, the operations director of the Haikou International Talent Home, together with Canadian volunteer Jan, recently visited the summer care station at Siyuan Experimental Primary School in Ledong County. They conducted on-site research and interactive teaching activities with foreign teachers, adding a vibrant touch to the children's summer care experience.
Under the bright sunshine of the campus, lively outdoor interactions took place first. Jan stepped in as a dedicated sports companion, actively integrating into the children's extracurricular life by playing badminton and soccer alongside them. This lighthearted and joyful sporting atmosphere bridged the gap between teachers and students, while the sounds of children's laughter echoed throughout the campus, vividly showcasing the youthful vigor of the young learners.
Stepping into the after-school care classroom, one is immediately greeted by a warm and childlike atmosphere. When encountering a child who was feeling down and was in tears, Ms.Jan offered gentle and patient reassurance, and the child soon brightened up with a smile. Subsequently, taking advantage of the cognitive characteristics of primary school students, Ms.Jan carefully designed engaging classroom games, guiding the students through immersive English speaking scenario dialogue practice sessions.
The classroom has moved away from traditional teaching methods, adopting an interactive approach that combines education with entertainment. Through vivid exchanges, engaging activities, and simple situational dialogues, the initiative has fully stimulated the children's enthusiasm for participation and effectively ignited their strong passion for learning English spoken language. The children have spoken boldly and interacted actively, overcoming their fear of speaking in a relaxed and joyful atmosphere, thereby immersing themselves in the charm of the English language. Pi Jinyu remarked: "This is our first visit to Ledong. When we stepped into this school and saw the children's clear, bright eyes, we felt an extraordinary sense of warmth. We were able to truly experience the simple and hospitable nature of Ledong, and the children in turn responded with exceptional warmth and friendliness."
Foreign volunteer Jan, who interacted with the children, was greatly inspired. He happily told the staff: "Ledong is incredibly hospitable; its children are both friendly and lively, and they demonstrate a strong desire to learn English in an international context. We hope to do our utmost to contribute our modest share to the international educational endeavors of Ledong."
This interactive activity, featuring foreign teachers visiting schools, has not only diversified the formats of the summer care programs in our county—providing children with a relaxed platform for oral practice—but also enabled rural students to engage directly with authentic foreign languages, thereby effectively enhancing their interest in language learning and their expressive skills. Moving forward, the Summer Care Station of Ledong County Siyuan Experimental Primary School will continue to enrich its distinctive curriculum system, integrate high-quality resources, and organize a variety of engaging activities, dedicated to safeguarding children's summer experiences and fostering their joyful growth and well-rounded development.
为丰富暑期爱心托管课堂内容，拓宽乡村学子国际视野，营造轻松愉悦的趣味学习氛围，近日，海口国际人才之家运营负责人皮进宇携加拿籍外籍志愿者Jan，走进乐东县思源实验小学暑期爱心托管站，开展实地调研暨趣味外教互动教学活动，为孩子们的暑期托管生活增添别样色彩。
阳光明媚的校园里，活力满满的户外互动率先开展。Jan化身专属运动伙伴，主动融入孩子们的课余生活，与同学们并肩打羽毛球、踢足球。轻松欢快的运动氛围，拉近了师生间的距离，校园里处处回荡着孩子们的欢声笑语，尽显少年蓬勃朝气。
走进托管课堂，温暖与童趣氛围扑面而来。面对情绪低落、正在哭泣的孩子，Jan老师温柔耐心安抚，孩子很快便展露欢颜。随后，Jan老师结合小学生的认知特点，精心设计趣味课堂游戏，带领同学们沉浸式开展英语口语情景对话练习。
课堂摒弃传统教学模式，以寓教于乐的互动形式为主，通过生动的交流、有趣的互动、简单的情景对话，充分调动了孩子们的参与积极性，有效点燃了大家学习英语口语的浓厚热情。孩子们大胆开口、积极互动，在轻松快乐的氛围中克服口语表达胆怯，沉浸式感受英语语言的魅力。
皮进宇表示：“我们是第一次来到乐东，走进这所学校的人，看到孩子们清澈的眼神，心里觉得格外亲切。能真切感受到乐东的淳朴好客，孩子们也格外热情友善。”
外籍志愿者Jan与孩子们互动深受鼓舞，他高兴地对工作人员说：“乐东非常的热情好客，孩子们待人友善又活泼，对国际化英语学习意愿强烈。希望能够尽己所能，为乐东的国际教育事业贡献一份微薄力量。”
