To further establish a working platform for international talent exchange programs and resource connectivity, on August 21, Dr. Fu Jihu—a member of the Industrial Advisory Committee of the Department of Food Science and Technology at the National University of Singapore—was invited to lead five international talents from Singapore, Canada, Myanmar, Nigeria, and other countries to visit the Le Dong Jujube Industrial Base and the county museum. Through this experience, they gained firsthand insight into the openness, dynamism, and inclusive spirit of the Hainan Free Trade Port, while also deeply appreciating the industrial sophistication and cultural richness of the Le Dong region.
At the custard apple cultivation base of Hainan Dongyi Agricultural Development Co., Ltd., the fields are lush with vibrant greenery and laden with ripe fruits. Leveraging Ledong's uniquely advantageous light and thermal resources, the region's distinctive tropical agricultural advantages are fully on full display. "Is this释迦果 meant to be ripened alongside rice?" asked Dr. Fu Jihu curiously, holding a freshly picked fruit in his hand in fluent Chinese—a question that drew knowing smiles from those present. Members of the international talent exchange delegation not only gained detailed insights into the cultivation management, technological applications, and industrial development models of the释迦果, but also savored freshly harvested tropical fruits with great interest. These innovative cultivation practices and refined operational philosophies have prompted these international visitors—coming from afar—to stop frequently, capture photos, and express high praise for Ledong's innovative agricultural explorations and its high-quality agricultural achievements.
Following the conclusion of their site visit, the exchange delegation proceeded to the Ledong Museum. The museum's comprehensive historical archives, diverse physical exhibits, and vivid scene reconstructions collectively delineate a complete narrative encompassing Ledong's regional evolution, agricultural heritage, the folk culture of the Li ethnic group, and its industrial transformation—thereby gradually unveiling the profound historical and cultural foundation of this county. During the tour, guided by English commentary, international visitors became deeply immersed in the experience, expressing profound admiration for Chinese cultural confidence and its enduring historical legacy. They also voiced great respect for Ledong's rich historical accumulation and continuous cultural transmission, engaging in in-depth exchanges based on their respective cultural experiences. These interactions effectively facilitated the integration of diverse wisdom and fostered cross-cultural dialogue. At the end of the activity, Dr. Fu Jihu remarked that the experience had yielded far greater benefits than anticipated—not only did he witness firsthand the tangible achievements of Ledong's distinctive agricultural sector, but he also gained a profound appreciation for the unique charm of Li culture, shaped by centuries of historical accumulation. This journey has provided him with a fresh perspective on Ledong's industrial advantages, developmental vitality, and future potential, while also fostering heightened expectations for the development prospects of the Hainan Free Trade Port. Moving forward, the Organization Department of the Ledong County Party Committee (County Party Committee Talent Development Bureau) will establish and refine mechanisms for international talent exchange, regularly organize a series of activities—including exchange programs, promotional events, and partnership matchmaking sessions—actively build channels for external cooperation, and optimize the framework for opening up talent recruitment. These efforts will help Ledong's characteristic agricultural industries gain global recognition, amplify the dissemination of its distinctive cultural heritage, and continuously enhance its image as an open and inclusive hub for talent development, thereby significantly elevating the county's international influence and reputation.
